Hexing Group Showcases Innovation with CampusGrid Microgrid Project at Unicamp
Campinas, Brazil – [2025.2] – Hexing Group had the honor of welcoming its partners from CEMIG during their visit to the CampusGrid project, an advanced microgrid system installed at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). This state-of-the-art system integrates solar photovoltaic generation, lithium-ion batteries, and a natural gas generator, designed to operate both autonomously and in connection with the CPFL Paulista grid, ensuring uninterrupted power supply even during outages.
Advancing Energy Security and Sustainability
Led by Prof. Dr. Luiz Carlos Pereira da Silva and his team of doctoral students, the CampusGrid project was made possible through R&D funding from CPFL Energia. The execution was carried out by Hexing Group, the parent company of Eletra Energy Solutions, alongside Hexing Brasil, responsible for EPC implementation.
This initiative underscores the critical role of microgrids in enhancing energy security, grid reliability, and sustainability. In addition to providing cost savings for Unicamp, the project also contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, aligning with Brazil’s clean energy transition goals.
During the visit, representatives from CEMIG – William Alves de Souza, Henrique Parreiras Couto, Danilo Derick Silva Alves, and Washington Rodrigues da Silva – were warmly received by the CPFL team and Hexing colleagues Tiger Cao, Ronaldo Lucas, Fabiam Fagner, and Iberê Carneiro de Oliveira.
Hexing Group remains dedicated to driving technological advancements that strengthen Brazil’s energy infrastructure. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the company continues to develop smart energy solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
